So last night I once again attended Rachael's show at the Cyber Cafe. She makes an appearance there once every 6 months or so.

Last night's show was probably one of the best I've seen of hers. She was accompanied my Russ Johnson (on trumpet) and Dean Sharp (on drums). Jacob Lawson, a violinist friend of hers (or so I gathered) was also at the show and he came up and played a few songs with them. She was really excited because she had just gotten copies of the new album in. They had a whole slew at at merch table and I picked one up between sets. The official in store release date is June 10, but it will be available on May 6th on iTunes and other electronic download places. But she'll have them at shows from now until then so go to shows! The new album is amazing. Plus she is beautiful on the cover.

We arrived a little late as the show was advertised to start at 10, but there was a time mix up so she started around 9:30. I don't think we missed any songs, just introductory anecdotes and such. Setlist was as follows:

Set One
Lonely Streets
Angel in My View
What If?

At the end of this set she threw in a little soy chai latte jingle that she wrote. It was cute. Really cute.

Set Two: Post Soy Chai Latte
Moonlight & Fireflies
It's So Hard
Alright Okay
Impromptu Ode to Photoshop (which was prompted my her mentioning she spends most of her spare time tinkering on Photoshop)
Pictures They Took>>Hit Song>>??

Talked to both Jacob and Rachael after the show. Jacob actually came up to talk to my boyfriend who was wearing a shirt he was interested in. He was a really genuinely nice guy. Also got a poster for the new album which Rachael signed.

Members of the Street Team should be looking for things in the mail pretty soon.

Show tonight in Ithaca at Felicia's Atomic Lounge at 7pm. I wish I could be there as Ithaca is not very far away, but I have lots of work to do tonight so I won't be. Would love to hear reports from anyone else who sees her on the album promotion tour.

For those of you who are unaware, Rachael's new album Chandelier will be released soon (digital release is on May 6 and retail release is June 10). She will be starting to tour for the new album starting in April. The official release party will be on Thursday May 15 at Joe's Pub in New York City.

Also for those of you who haven't heard her live in a while(or those who are curious) there is a one minute clip of Chandelier up on Rachael's myspace page.

Also I will probably be rigging up a new layout for our little community in the next few days (provided I get through the pools of school work  have to do before Spring break starts on Friday).

I was lucky enough to see Rachael perform yet again at the Cyber Cafe this past Saturday. The set list was as follows:

Set One
Angel in My View
Lonely Streets
Among All of God's Creatures
Alright Okay
Bravedancing >> Site-Seeing >> What If
Too Many Women

Set Two (post chip break)
It's So Hard
Pictures They Took
My Word

I love seeing her play there, it's a really small venue and she's always so adorable. She was accompanied by Dean Sharpe on drums. The setlist was great and she was very chatty. She said she'd been in the studio, had all kinda of little stories.

Secondly she'll be playing Joe's Pub in NYC on the 9th with a full string quartet. Copies of an limited edition advanced EP from her new album will be available only at this show. The new album is called Chandelier aand is due to be released in April of next year.

Does anyone know where I can find high-res pics of Rachael's album covers, Public Record and Smashing the Serene in particular, but any links would be helpful.

The show last night was amazing.

This was her debut with Dave (cellist) and Russ (trumpeteer). She was visibly a little anxious because I think she was concerned they didn't have anough music that all three of them knew. She did mention having been in the studio for the past few days and mentioned a new album in production. She was gorgeous and charming and full of little anecdotes. She wore her hair in pigtails and was apparently dismayed at being unable to redye her hair red. I talked to her briefly after the show and she was so polite and gave me a hug.

The chemistry between the three musicians was amazing and during a few songs the combination of the piano and cello was so intense it was nearly indescribable.

Setlist was as follows. Some songs I didn't know, but I jotted down some lyric snippets or descriptions of things I didn't recognize (which I will indicate with question marks to avoid confusion)

Lonely Streets
Invincible(this song was Amazing and she even commented how much more angsty it was with the added cello and trumpet)
Angel in My View
What If
Delancey Street
Poem ( I don't know which one, but she read it right out of a little journal)
I Will Be Ready?? (she commented that this one was new and will probably be on the new album)
Pictures They Took
Alright, OK

Violet or Blue
